Sheffield Design Awards

The Sheffield Design Awards (SDA) are delivered in partnership by Sheffield Civic Trust and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Yorkshire. The SDA are held every two years and open to any project within the city’s boundary.

The Judging Panel has shortlisted the following schemes that demonstrate the best design of building projects within the Sheffield city boundary for the Sheffield Design Awards 2014:-

  • King Edward VII Upper School (HLM)
  • University Technical College (HLM)
  • The Werringer House (Prue Chiles Architects)
  • 41 Moor View Road (Claire and David Kemp)
  • Sellers Wheel (Cartwright Pickard)
  • West Street (Coda Studios Ltd)
  • AMRC Design Prototyping Testing Centre (Bond Bryan Studios)
  • AMRC Training Centre (Bond Bryan Studios) and
  • Sum Studios (Studio Gedye Ltd)

The 2014 awards were presented at the SDA presentation ceremony, held during Urban Design Week 2014 at the The Arts Tower, University of Sheffield.

Congratulations to all the winners including Sellers Wheel by Cartwright Pickard, which took Best Building Award, and SUM Studios by Studio Gedye Ltd, which took the People’s Choice Award. Details of those and the other Sheffield Design Award winners can be found at the RIBA website.
