The Keith Hayman Award is an initiative of the Sheffield Civic Trust [SCT] to commemorate a founder member who sadly died in 2013 – whilst an active Trustee – shortly after his retirement.
He had retired from a career with Sheffield City Council where he brought his skills and commitment as a town planner and environmentalist to enhancing the quality of the public realm. He was also a committed and talented artist.
This award was initiated in his memory to recognise an outstanding contribution to the experience of public art in Sheffield. It has become an annual award, made in conjunction with the Sheffield Design Awards, with which Keith was heavily involved in its formative days.
The KHA was awarded for the fifth and sixth time in 2021 thus bringing us back ‘up-to-date’ after Covid restrictions, with the focus still on public art.
